General thought's about blogging

1.februar 2010so

I'm writing this blog as a part of my study of ICT - Society and Work Life on Nesna University College, but I don't think I will continue blogging when I've finished this course.

I have to write 4 posts about blogging, looking at blogging with different views (general, cultural, educational and ethics) and at least one of the posts have to be in English. I think some of my posts will be written in my native language,Norwegian.

I.m not sure what to think about blogging as this is quite a new subject for me. I've read some blogs, but never written one myself. But I'm sceptical to how some people use their blogs. And I would like to ask what happen with our private life's when "everybody" can read about it on Internett? Do I need to know if my neighbours have taken a shower today or how many times they have been to the toilet before going to work?

No, I don't, I find such information rather uninteresting, but there is no rule without exception. One blog I read frequently is named Arnøy and are about the daily life for a student.

I'm more found of blogs that write about their hobbies or the society in other countries. I also like to read blogs with a historic contents.

  1. Hei Arild :-)

This is an interesting reflection related to cultural aspects of ICTs. Internet gives opportunity to speak up to everyone who's connected. This is a great opportunity of course and many people use it. Yet the question is how people use it. Blogs have great potential as tools for communication and you may use this potential also in the professional field. This is in fact what our study is about :-)

  2. Hei.
I've been an on-and-off blogger for many years. Never finding a huge audience, but blogging for the sake of remembering special moments.
The blogs I read are all about the everydaylife of other people, and they have the common thread that I find them all inspirational.

  3. Hey!
Blogging is not often about toilet visits and fodd habitants... that is more common in virtual societys like facebook. Blogging is more like a public diary, thoughts and opinions. Many blogs is about hobbies, where people whit same interest shares their work, like my blog :-))My blog is about sharing hobbies, bur also about showing relatives, far awvay, special things our family do! Good luck with blogging! Mabe you get hooked!?

  4. Hey Arild!

I can see we have got the same fundamental toughts about blogging, we are sceptic... Even so we have both started blogging, and maybe it can leed to something useful. I'v desided to be openminded and am trying to show some enthusiasm about our task at ICT103. Let's help eachother with the blogs.

    Best wishes
    Nina:-)

  6. Many of the blogs I've read previously is about diseases. To be affected by the disease is difficult, but some are able to process grief by sharing ideas with others. Now I have read several blogs and see that many are writing about hobbies and leisure. Blog posts seem more thoughtful than such as facebook and twitter. I Think many people feels left out if they are not part of this blogging world that's part of many people daily life
